William David Parker passed away on September 6, 2021 at the age of 69, in South Austin Hospital in Austin, Texas.

David was born in Palestine, Texas to Gleason and Margrette Parker on June 5, 1952. As a child, he enjoyed playing with his friends and family. He was a straight A student from elementary through high school. He graduated from Palestine High School in 1970 where he played tennis and was on the Distinguished Honor Roll. He went on to attend Ambassador College in Pasadena, California, where he studied Theology, Counseling, and Ministerial Studies. He was a teaching assistant in the Theology department, and he graduated with a degree in Theology in 1975. He attended graduate school at the University of Texas at Austin, where he received a Master of Arts in Education with a specialization in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling in 1977. He worked as a rehabilitation counselor for the state of Texas for almost 27 years. He retired in 2003.
David met Beverly Elting in Austin, Texas. They married in 1979 and were married almost 42 years. Together, they had two children: April Brianna Parker- Trower and Brittany Kiersten Parker.

His interests included football, basketball, books, and dogs.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly, his daughter, April, her husband, David, his brother, Gleason, his nephew Dan, his nieces Debbie and Susanne, and his labrador, Rose.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Bobbie Parker Gilley, his niece, Linda, his daughter, Brittany, and his border collie, Oreo.
