Cecil was a talented, sensitive, hard working man. He had a beautiful soul. He was a great musician and had a great sense of humor. I lived with him for three years from 1984 until 1987......I will always miss him.....and always love him. He was the kind of guy who made you shake your head about when he wasn't around and the stories about him are legendary.
I first met him when we and a few others started a pickup basketball in the gym shortly after he arrived at the campus. The entire time he kept calling me "Toby". At the end of the game he apologized, saying that he hadn't meant any insult, but had forgotten my name and since I reminded him of a friend of his named Toby, that was the best name he could think of to use.
Cecil and I met when we were ten years old at the Feast of Tabernacles in Jekyll Island. we remet at Pasadena and I only have wonderful great memories of him.
