Margaret (Peggy) died of cancer. Had it not been for her kindness to me my freshman year, I probably would have returned home. I was so homesick, painfully shy and after a particular bad experience at the "Get Acquainted" picnic, I was in tears contemplating writing my parents that I wanted to return home. Somehow Peggy entered my Terrace Villa dorm room, saw me in tears and sat down beside me and just listened as I poured out my heart. Many years later as she was dying I was able to share with her how much I appreciated her kindness all those years ago.
