John Kerley (1966)

Stuart and Ivy were good friends with myself and my wife at AC Pasadena. One New Years Day we drove up to Pasadena to Stuart's home very early to have breakfast with them before going to the Rose Parade. We had taken some eggs in our car when we left El Toro. After our 4 children and Stuart's children had finished breakfast, I saw the intent look on the faces of Stuart's children. They were looking for more scrambled eggs. I went out to our car and got our eggs. We added an extra breakfast for the children that day. Stuart and Ivy were in their 3rd tithe year, and their children were hurting due to a lack of food. That event caused me to begin to think about this burden placed on Christian families by the WCG. Social Security taxes in the USA seemed to be doing what the 3rd tithe was meant to cover for Christians.
