Subject: Passing of Gene Michel

Hello Church Family,

Bernell Michel asked me to let you all know that his brother, Gene Michel, passed away this morning at about 8:30. He died peacefully in his sleep. His passing was expected as he has been under hospice care for some time now. When I talked to Bernell last night, he knew that his brother only had a short time to live. Gene has been in a care facility in Pasadena for over a year now. His daughter, Elizabeth is also at the same facility which was a comfort to them both.

Gene attended Ambassador College beginning with the class of 1951. That is where he met his wife, Betty Bates, who was in the first-ever class at Ambassador. Gene headed the Accounting Department for many years and oversaw the finances and care of all the church properties around the world. Bernell mentioned that many of you probably would remember his brother. He mentioned Carlton Green, Vance Gilless, and Reggie Nicholas in particular, but knew there were many others who would remember Gene.

According to his wishes, Gene will be cremated and his cremains will be placed in a niche at the mausoleum with his wife. There will be no ceremony. Just a few family members will gather at some time in the future for a time of remembrance.

Bernell specifically asks that no flowers be sent, but I know he would appreciate cards, letters or phone calls of love and support. His contact information is as follows:

Bernell Michel

2878 Sycamore Lane

Arcadia, CA 91006-6352

Phone (626) 712-5862

Thankfully, Bernell has a loving and supportive family living close by. He has children, greats and grands around him. Please lift them all up in prayer as they go through this time of grieving and remembrance of a life well lived.

Praying for peace and comfort in the Lord,

Wayne
