John S. Robinson John S. Robinson, 60, died Thursday, January 5, at 3:30 p.m. at St. David's North Austin Medical Center, Austin, Texas, from complications of prostate cancer. John Robinson served as chief executive officer of Dynamic Resource Group, the management company that oversees the publishing and fulfillment companies owned by the Muselman family of Berne, Ind., for the past 16 years. His first job in publishing came in 1965 as editor of his college newspaper. For almost 35 years he had been involved in the publishing industry in a variety of positions. Robinson edited an internationally distributed biweekly newspaper and had P&L responsibility for operations. Later, he and a partner purchased and successfully operated a weekly community newspaper for five years. He also owned and operated a graphic imaging business, which was a pioneer in the desktop publishing revolution of the late 1980s. Robinson, in addition to his business pursuits in the 1980s, served on the faculty of the University of Texas at Tyler, teaching journalism, public relations and graphic arts classes. His undergraduate degree is from Ambassador College, and he earned a master's degree in journalism from Texas A&M University, Commerce. Robinson also has completed other graduate work at the University of Southern California, and was an adjunct professor in journalism at Ball State University in Muncie, Ind., teaching a magazine class. Robinson, who was born in Glasgow, Scotland, was a U.S. citizen as well as a British subject. He was a member of the United Church of God. He spoke fluent Spanish, and listed travel as his principal hobby. He has spent time in all 50 states of the United States and has traveled to 25 countries on five continents. His family says of him: "John was a faithful husband, devoted father and proud grandfather. Generous to a fault he was also a good friend. We miss him already." He is survived by his wife of 38 years, the former Alice Rothery; his mother, Margaret Robinson of Tulsa, Okla.; sons John David and Stephen of Austin; a daughter, Rachel Venish, of Austin; a brother, Mark Robinson of Plano, Texas; a brother, Robert Robinson; and sisters Felicity Reedy of Tyler, Texas, and Mary Perrin; and seven grandchildren. The Funeral will be held at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville at 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 9, 2006. Private burial service will be Tuesday, at the Latham Cemetery, near George West, Texas.

Robert Gentet (1957)

According to an article entitled "John Robinson left his journalistic mark" in the January 31, 2017, issue of The Journal: News of the Churches of God, John died on January 5, 2006. Much of his work is cited in this article.
