Kim Warfel was a wonderful, vivacious woman who sang like an angel, loved life and loved to have fun. I remember her from Chorale and in the young ambassadors in Pasadena. When you were around her, she would leave you breathless from the intensity of her personality. She was witty, charming, and a joy to know. I remember when she was getting married and being sent out into the field with her new husband. It seemed like a perfect match and a wonderful direction, and I know how happy and excited she was about her new life. I'm saddened that she is gone, but I treasure her memory in my heart.
Kim was my date for the Spring Formal dance our Freshman year. Yes, she had a tremendous sense of humor. No, I wasn't ready for it. When I went to pick her up at the appointed time at her S.O.G. apartment, she came to the door is a very brightly colored, non-formal dress. I had her coursage in hand, appropriately color coordinated to what I thought was the color of her dress. The dress and the coursage in no way matched. She stood at the door for a moment as I stared and tried to find something to say. She let the suspense build for just a moment and then smiled went back inside and changed into her formal apparel.
