Dave DIllingham, Bill Fairchild, and I shared an apartment in 1969 - 1970.  All three of us were bachelors, seeking to remove ourselves from the un-married population. Back then, we collected the BLUE stamps at various merchants -- and had a deal:  whoever married first got the book(s) of stamps.

Dave was dating Bertha, and when they went ice skating at Pickwick in Burbank they were a very gracefull couple.  They both enjoyed skiing, and other outdoor activities.   When they married in the summer of 1970, they went to Merced ( wow! ).   Rita Nutt, Kathy Hoyt and Barbara Nestor all wanted to attend -- I had a car -- so early on a Sunday morning we all piled in and off we went to Merced CA.   The wedding was intimate, but we made it!  Then came the drive home -- back to Pasadena the same day.   Thankfully, we were younger and could bounce back for work the next day.

PS  Dave won the BLUE stamps.
