Perhaps, Matthew, God wanted to see what we'd do individually by allowing what happened to test us? Just like in the Garden? Either way, I believe that we ARE the church, individually and collectively. How are we then doing? ;-)
What I meant, Gwen, by my comment was that Richard probably would have become the next Pastor General after his father Mr. HWA, had his life not been cut short. Undoubtedly you are correct when you say that the Church is now in a time of testing (I Peter 4:17).
