The Ashlands moved from Seatlle to Pasadena when my dad hired Bob to work in the Archetectual and Engineering Department. Kim was a year behind me in Imperial Schools and was always the nicest, sweetest girl anyone could have as a "school sister." I left for AC Bricket Wood in the summer of '69. She graduated Imperial in 1970 and started AC Pasadena that fall. I happened to be at my parents' home on campus for a short time that summer. Since Ashlands lived down the street, I invited Kim up to a pool party we were having at my parent's home. When I came to her family's home to pick her up, Kim wasn't quite ready. So, she asked a visiting childhood friend from across the street to greet me. That friend was the dauther of another man my dad had just hired for the Carpenter Maintenance Depart. When the door opened, I was surprised to meet new Imperial School senior, Merrie McCann.  Kim married, had a family and they eventually resided in the Greater Phoenix area. Sadly, Kim succumbed to cancer and is buried in Sequim, Washington where her mother Betty lives, and where Bob is also buried. Kim is continually missed by all of us who knew her.

Kim is indeed missed by all of us who knew her.  Her cheerful smile and encouraging personality cannot be forgotten.  She was a dear friend.
