Libbia Schaefer Obituary, Libbia Schaefer has died unexpectedly

Libbia Schaefer Obituary, Death – Libbia Schaefer has sadly died unexpectedly, leaving loved ones and family and entire community in grief and agony according to an online share. “On December 13, 2022, Libbia “Libby” Rose (Bailey) Schaefer unexpectedly passed away at the residence she shared with her son Bill Schaefer and Jamie Erickson close to Burns, Oregon. Dennis, her husband, remained by her side the entire time.

Libby was born on February 17, 1942 in Burns, Oregon at the Burns Maternity Home. She spent her formative years on the Bailey ranch in Diamond, Oregon. Following their retirement, Libby’s parents relocated the family to Middleton, Idaho, where she completed her secondary education. Libby first met Dennis Schaefer when they were both students at Ambassador College in Pasadena, California.

They moved to the Schaefer farm west of Tripp, South Dakota, after their wedding, which took place on August 10, 1963. Libby and her husband raised seven children together, and she committed her life to caring for them. She loved taking care of the farm animals and the enormous garden that her family had. This kept her busy in between the antics of the children.

She didn’t have much time for hobbies, but she really enjoyed learning about healthy eating and exercise. After a few years of nomadic life, Libby and Dennis settled down close to Fields, Oregon, and began their retirement. She was able to spend more time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren because several of their offspring had chosen to make this location their permanent home.

Libby’s parents, Tom and Maxine (Kern) Bailey, her brothers, Tom, Walt, Fred, and Bob Bailey, and her sister, Colleen Hutcheon, all passed away before she did. Additionally, Libby’s infant granddaughter also passed away before her. She is survived by her husband, Dennis Schaefer, seven children – Rose Schaefer Dykstra (David Martinek), June (Fred) Maupin, Bill Schaefer (Jamie Erickson), Tom (Sabrina) Schaefer, Naomi (Pete) Casey, Dorothy Styles, and Abraham (Katrena) Schaefer – as well as 20 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Additionally, she is survived by her husband, Dennis Schaefer.”
