Obituary for George Bishop

Mr. George Bishop, Jr., age 81, of Gladewater, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at his home in Gladewater. Mr. Bishop was born on October 6, 1937 in Pekin, IL. To the late George, Sr., and Louise Stark Bishop. He was a retired high school math teacher for Longview ISD, a Christian and a member of the Church of God.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 53 years, Betty Bishop; and sister, Donna Austin.

He is survived by two sons, David Bishop of Plano, Dr. Joe Bishop of Albuquerque, NM.; two daughters, Carolyn Dunnavant of Longview, Cheryl Allen of Gilmer; seven grandchildren, Anna Bishop, Maria Bishop, John Dunnavant, Carmen Dunnavant, Ashley Allen, Amy Allen, Alisha Allen; two sisters, Helen Piscaglia of Peoria, IL., and Dorothy Talbott of Manito, IL.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at Gladewater Memorial Park, Bro. Wayne Norvell officiating. Services are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home of Gladewater.
