Sam and I were friends back in Eugene, Oregon even though we did not attend the same High Schools.  We moved to Eugene at the beginning of my HS years so I was there 5 years before heading to AC.  I attended AC a year later that Sam and our schedules did not match but we remained friends.  In Eugene we ran around together, stayed at each others homes, and always connected at church.  Sad to see him die so young.  We did connect shortly before he passed away and had an excellent conversation and somewhat of a farewell moment.  He was a good friend.

I was a student in Pasadena from 64' to 66' but Sam stands out in my memory and I remember him well.  We were good friends and I remember him as being one of the nicest guys on campus.  It is sad to know he is no longer with us.

Great guy from a great Eugene family

He had a gift for motivating and dealing with people. I learned a lot from him when I was on the AC gardening crew – things that I would use in my future career. Unfortunately I lost track of him when I left the WCG, and was shocked when I learned that he passed.
