On Friday, August 10, 2018, Nancy Ehlert Heiss, loving wife and mother of two children, passed away at home in southern California at the age of 70.

Nancy was born on October 9, 1947, in Kansas to Ted and Dorothy Ehlert.  Nancy attended Ambassador College in Pasadena, California, from 1965-1969 and graduated in 1969.  On July 27, 1969, she married Michael Heiss who graduated from Ambassador College in 1964.  They raised two children, David and Benjamin.  Nancy worked as the office manager with Mike for years in the income tax preparation business they own.

 Nancy suffered health challenges for many years.  In 1992 she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer.  She beat the cancer but it left her with one functioning lung which limited her activities over the years.  One of her favorite activities was taking cruises with her husband and other family members, particularly to Alaska which was her favorite destination.  
 

 Nancy was a very feeling person and had a knack for reading people's genuineness or perhaps lack thereof.  She chuckled with wry humor, and cheered up close friends and others by the cards she lovingly wrote. 

After years of struggling healthwise, Nancy died peacefully at home with several of her immediate family around her.  Nancy is survived by her husband Mike, sons David (granddaughters Kayla and Hanna) and Benjamin (grandson Thomas), and her sister Jean Ehlert Updegraff and her husband David Updegraff with their two adult children.  Mike was very grateful that he was able to sit beside her bed holding her right hand with his right hand while caressing her forehead with his left at the moment she died. Nancy is greatly missed.
