I remember Chuck well. It was very unusual to have a steel guitar in a "big band", but Joe Bauer had a knack for making the unusual work. Chuck had some health issues even back then but always was of good humor.
My wife, Arline and Dixie were friends in college. Arline even visited Dixie's Oregon home. Yes, Chuck and Dixie did marry -- their musical talents were quite a match and they continued to play together for years after leaving Pasadena and moving to Arizona. Arline and I with our three children were able to visit Arizona and see the Gillettes -- who also had three children. Eating out together meant a very large table at the restaurant. We do miss them, their music and their upbeat attitudes!

I remember Chuck played the steel guitar in the AC Band. If my memory serves me right, he married Dixie
