I'm deeply saddened to hear of the passing of David Halpain! It is hard to believe. What a gift to us that he joined the other alums at the reunion banquet!
Was looking forward to seeing David again at the reunion after many years. But I had to miss it because of a death in the family and the funeral in NJ the same day as the first day of the reunion. Dave and I both came from the same part of the country. He lived in St. Joe, MO, and I was born a few miles away in KS across the muddy MO River. He came to AC two years after I did. Sorry to hear of his passing.
David Halpain, 73, died Friday, March 20, 2015. He had been in failing health for some time.
Dave came to AC in 1959, and thankfully was able to attend our recent 2015 AC Reunion at the Hilton Hotel accompanied by his dear friend, Jo Ann Felt Dorothy.
He is survived by a daughter, Rena Allen, and a son.
I am saddened to learn of the passing of Dave Halpain. He was good to me and my family. He cared about people, and lived by "The Golden Rule". He believed in the value of Pasadena real estate, and helped me purchase my first home on Casa Grande in Pasadena in 1971 for $19,500. Somehow I scraped together around $2,500 to close escrow. Thanks to Dave, it was one of the best decisions of my life! I am sorry that I lost contact with Dave in the last 4-5 years. I am thankful I was able to say "hello" during the reunion in Pasadena. We were both Missouri boys.

I remember Dave as going 'above and beyond' in helping people when they needed it.
