We e-mailed each other years ago when I first got my computer. She was such a nice person. I remember her helping the Japanese exchange students feel so much at home at A.C.I was so sorry to learn of her passing.
Having grown up in HI, Phyllis was so excited to see snow the winter of 74-75 that someone took her up to Mt. Wilson to see & touch it. She said she had so much fun playing in it & sounded like a little child in her excitement. Being from Detroit area, I @ 1st laughed, but quickly realized her childlike zeal was an amazing thing to behold. Quite often I would eat w/ Phyllis, Pansy Jang, Etsuko Nakamura, Tsujiko Yamashita & Bin Hong Teo, or any combination thereof, & if Phillis was there she lit up the table w/ her smile.
