Ed and his wife Mary were very caring people who were there for anyone who might need them in any way.  They were very giving to me and my family.

Ed Marshall was my first room monitor, in Vernon Del Mar, a dorm that was torn down after my freshman year, 1963-64, to make room for the gymnasium.  Ed was a senior that year. He was the Rock of Gibraltar for my rather erratic lifestyle, gently reminding me of the Ambassador Way about everything from military corners on the bed to not playing jazz on my portable record player during study time. Our other two roomates that year were Larry Haworth, a fellow freshman and my first best buddy, and sophomore Ron Jones.  George Kemnitz was the dorm monitor and other good friends in that small dorm were Gary Briggs and John Gudeman.  Ed was a gentle man in a world that seemingly rewarded power and bluster, and I treasure his memory for that.

Ed Marshall was a terrific fellow student; I remember him well. I hope someone will post more about his life. Who was his wife Mary?...an A.C. student?
