Robin Connelly (1965)

I came to Pasadena in 1965, and worked on the custodian crew.  In the fall of 1966, Mr Mauck called me into his office and noted that I had taken some computer programming classes before coming to Ambassador.  As it turns out, my traning was on an older line of IBM computers that IBM was willing to rent to the college while we were waiting for the new IBM/360 -- finally delivered in 1967.   As it turned out Leonard Smith and I both knew the programming language for this older line of computers -- thus Mr Mauch hired us both.

Turns out, I have spent the rest of my career in / under / around and next to computers.

I can only say:  "Thanks for the opportunity"!

Mr Mauch had the vision to see how to keep up with an exploding number of subscribers on the emailing list, and was able to experience the realization of that vision.   To say that I was pleased to be a part of that vision  would be a gross understatement.  I was thrilled!  I was surrounded by a dedicated crew of young men and women with the same goals and passions, in a morally "safe" environment.
