Patricia L McLemore

December 4, 2019

Patricia Lou McLemore was born in Korea, KY on July 7, 1947 to Morthan and Anzy McKinney. She was the 5th of 7 children. At an early age she worked with her parents on the tobacco farm and in the garden with her mother. As Pat grew up, her mother read verses from the Bible to her. She attended Hazel Green Academy, a religiously oriented private school in Hazel Green, KY. There Pat learned to weave and used that training to pay for some of her schooling. After graduation she wanted to attend Ambassador University in Pasadena, CA. It was a financial miracle that she was able to attendcollege in Pasadena for 2 years, and later able to travel to Europe with her roommate, an experience she never forgot.

Pat met Robert (Bob) McLemore shortly after his first wife passed away after childbirth and left him with a newborn baby girl. Pat married Bob on June 9, 1974 andbecame an instant mother of littleLee Anne. Pat had worked with a girls club and was ready to take on an immediate family. It wasn't long before a second daughter, Adina, was born to the family,

She moved from California to Washington state, then to Iowa, and finally to Nebraska where she lived the last 35 years. Pat enjoyed a number of activities such as softball, volleyball, cycling, gardening, crocheting, Israeli dancing, and sewing. Since she learned to weave in high school, Bob bought her a floor loom and Pat created many woven articles such as place mats, rugs, and blankets that she gave to friends and family. She learned to sew in college and that progressed into sewing for her church, its members, and friends. A local business asked Pat to produce canvas bags for them. Pat did a lot of volunteer sewing for Lord of Hosts Church. One of her favorite annual activities was making snowballs for the children's winter snowball fight.

Pat and Bob went on a mission trip to Pennsylvania, Costa Rica, and Guatemala. She loved children and every church she attended found her working with the girls and boys. In her later years, even though she wasn't a teacher, she worked at the check-in desk where she got hugs from them. Besides working with children, she worked the past five years for Special Journeys helping people with special needs.

In her love for the Bible, she almost never missed reading and studying with her husband which alwaysincluded praying together. Pat got into the habit of memorizing Psalms and Bible verses.Psalm 91 was a tough one for her but she was able to tackle it.

Pat was a Barnabus encourager and she was always looking for someone to encourage. People would approach her with their problems and she was ready to help and pray for them, many times even when she needed encouragement. She read that when Bob Jones went to heaven and was asked, 'Did you learn to love?', he went to earth. I'm sure Pat learned to love; she didn't have to come back.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents Morthan and Anzy McKinney; Sister, Athaleen McKinney; and Brother, Marlin McKinney.

Patricia is survived by: her husband, of 45 years, Robert McLemore; Daughters, Lee Anne McLemore-Hines and Jason McLemore-Hines, Adina Redman; Sisters, Ruth and Maxene McKinney; Brothers, Trevor and Tracey McKinney; Grandchildren, Micah and Jacob Redman.

A Celebration of Patricia’s Life will be on Thursday, December 12th at 11:00 AM at Lord of Hosts Church.
