Janice (Jan) McMaster Weiner

After graduation in 1972, worked as information center coordinator in the Student Center of AC. Married Scott Weiner in 1980. In 1988, transferred to event manager for AC/AF/WCG and planned events for celebrities such as Placido Domingo, Mel Torme and Sam Wanamaker. Worked for Cal Poly Pomona as senior event planner from 2000 planning major fundraising events that featured Paul Anka, Smothers Brothers, Glen Campbell and Bill Cosby. Retired in 2006.

Moved back to So. IL (where I grew up) in 2006, where Scott & I have 5 acres, 2 horses & a dog. Scott retired in 2010 after working as CFO and vice president of finance of a Fortune 500 company. He served in that capacity for their Northwest (OR & WA) and Northeast (NY, NJ & CT) divisions.

Surviving the Sylmar earthquake while living in Olcott which was located on the north (Green St.) side of campus away from the majority of the dorms. Boy, did we rock and roll! Came through it without injuries or major damage, but I recall several guys running from across campus to check to be certain that we weren't in the middle of Green Street. Chimneys had come down on Del Mar and Mayfair and, at that point in time, none of us knew what to do during an earthquake. We did quickly learn NOT to run out of buildings when it was shaking.
