From Sonya Dane Lavender/Marcou
My brother-in-law, Melvin Olinger, died in 2017 of pneumonia. He was in his early 80's and had Alzheimer's for some time before his death.
Mel was Mr. Herbert Armstong's chauffeur for many years and after Mr. Armstrong's death he returned to Pasadena and drove for Mr. Joseph Tkach, Sr. until his death.
He is survived by his wife, Loretta, three children: Eric, Alyssa and Kevin and six grandchildren.

Mel was the first person I met in Radio Church of God. He picked me up at the bus station. He was warm and always smiling. Fine person.

Mel always had a big smile for everyone, and was kind and respectful to all. It was a pleasure to have known him. Joan Goodchild Elliott
