Announcement for Bay Area regarding the death of Barbara Pebworth from her son, Tim Pebworth

Date: March 8, 2020 at 12:57:26 PM PDT

Dear Brethren in the Bay Area

Many of you have heard now of the death of my mother, Barbara Pebwoth, yesterday evening after church services

After church services and after fellowshipping with many members, as she had done since her calling nearly 60 years ago, she felt ill and passed out in her chair. Meanwhile, our brethren prayed for her and did their best to help her until help arrived. She seemed to get better when the Paramedics arrived, but during her transport to the hospital in the ambulance, her heart stopped and she could not be revived. She was 77 years old.

I am now on my way back to California from the Democratic Republic of the Congo to be with Maryse and Mark-Phillip. Given the suddenness and many things to consider, we will be determining the right time for a small memorial service. Her wishes were to have a small service with family and close friends.

My mom’s race is run and she remained faithful to the end. I am thankful that I had many years with her and although I wish I could have been with her, I am thankful that she was with brethren. Her last memory was being surrounded by her church family and her next memory will be waking up in God’s Kingdom.

Thank you for your prayers for Maryse, Mark-Phillip, Sophie and me as well as our extended family.

Much Love

Tim and Maryse Pebworth

So sorry to learn of Barbara’s sudden death. I have memories of her in LAD when she was in the pool of typists. I thought highly of her. Our condolences to her family and a looking forward to the time when only joy will reign in the Kingdom that lasts forever!

I met Barbara back in the 1960's  just before the birth of her first child while a small group of us from AC were traveling to church services to Bakersfield (or Fresno ?). Then had a brief conversation with her while she was visiting our church services in Palm Springs about 20-25 years ago. She was a very lovely and gracious lady. I am very sorry for her family's loss, and wish them the comfort of God's peace.
