Joanna (Joyce) Cornelia Wright (nee Valstar) 
May 13, 1955 - December 17, 2022

It is with heavy hearts the family of Joanna (Joyce) Cornelia Wright announce her passing on December 17, 2022, in her home, after a brief illness.

Joyce was born on May 13, 1955, in St. Catharines, ON to Tom and Rita Valstar, and spent her childhood in the Niagara region.  It is here where Joyce worked on her green thumb in the family greenhouse with her two younger siblings.

Joyce met the love of her life Jim, on a blind date and they were married on March 7^th, 1981. Their journey took them back and forth between BC and St. Catharines before resettling in Langley where they happily tended to their blueberry farm. She was a proud mom to her children Stephen and Jason, and a loving Grammie to Nathan and Heidi. 

Joyce was a kind, gentle and giving soul. She was a loyal friend to many and someone you could always count on. She loved to help out in anyway she could. She was a faithful servant and would show Christ’s love in her works.

Sadly, Joyce was predeceased by her son Stephen (2016) and husband Jim (2018). Joyce is survived by her loving son Jason (Ali) her grandchildren Nathan and Heidi, parents Tom and Rita Valstar, brother Gord (Wilma) and sister Shirley (Wayne Bennett, 2020). Brothers in law Tom (Barb) Wright, Bob (Laura) Wright, Don (Tori) Wright as well as several nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins in BC, Ontario and NWT.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 23rd at 10:00am at 3070 275a Street, Aldergrove, BC.
