Gary Vance was one of the outrageous, special friends that everyone should be blessed with at least once in a lifetime. As the very best of college buddies in 65-66 in Pasadena,Ca. we spent endless hours involved in mischief and laughter. Gary was always quick to share the pride he had in his Chicago roots and his family. Whether he wove “Boss Tweed” or “Big Al” into a conversation laced liberally with large, obscure words, as he extracted the ever present toothpick from the corner of his mouth, or he shared his views formulated in the “World of Vance”…Gary was an intelligent, warm, open, beyond entertaining man to be around. We remained friends and spent some great times through the years until his passing. I miss and remember the “Buckaroo” with the GREAT LAUGH!
