It is with heavy hearts that the family of Colin Lauchlan, announce his passing on July 5th, 2025, after a brief battle with cancer. Lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 48 years, Susan, his two sons Steven and Clifford, daughters-in-law Melinda and Leah, and his eight grandchildren, Ian, Aria, Eli, Lucy, Zoe, Lydia, Talitha and Rowan.
Colin lived a blessed an abundant life, filled with blessings, opportunities and adventures. The defining moment of his life was in January 1973 when he became a Christian at the age of 25. This led to a 52-year journey with a faithful God, who blessed him with a wonderful caring wife, two sons of which he was immensely proud, two beautiful, godly daughters-in-law, and eight terrific grandchildren. He was also blessed with the opportunity to serve in ministry for the final 16 years of his life.
After his diagnosis earlier this year, his prayer was shaped by the words of the Apostle Paul: whether by my life or by my death, that Christ be glorified. For to me to live is Christ and to die is gain (Phil 1:20-21).
He passed looking forward to the resurrection and to being united once again with family and friends.
There will be a Celebration of Life held at Byron United Church on Saturday, August 9th at 11:00. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Teen Challenge, a cause that was dear to his heart.
