Obituary of Helvin Glen Hohertz
IN THE CARE OF
Johnson's Funeral Home

Late afternoon on July 12, 2013 Helvin Glenn Hohertz was taken home to be with the Lord. Helvin’s many years of suffering and pain has ended and he is at peace with God.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM Monday July 15th at Johnson’s Funeral Home. Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 16th in Johnson’s Funeral Home chapel.

Helvin was born April 1, 1936 in Eola, Texas to Richard Adolf and Alwine Sofie “Meissner” Hohertz.

Helvin known by many as Speedy loved the game of baseball, Dominoes, fishing with a cane pole and the pleasure of a good cold Budweiser, after a hard day’s work. A good Christian man who would give you the shirt off his back and often stopped to help a stranger in need. He was retired from the Maintenance Department with SAISD.

Helvin was married to Jackie Lanham on August 17, 1961 in Rocky, Oklahoma.

Helvin was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one sister and his son Timothy Wayne Hohertz.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, this August, Jackie Lanham Hohertz; three daughters Brenda Kay Hardy, Tammy Renee Hohertz and Julie Ann Hohertz; grandchildren Jeffrey Glenn Hardy, Jason Robert Hardy, Jeremy Glenn Oakley, Robert Austin Karpiscak, Brandy Nicole Pierce and Sterling Aaron Gill; two brothers and one sister.

You will be greatly missed, but you left behind so much with us through your loving hands and Christian heart.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Hospice of San Angelo or House of Hope in his name.

Enjoy the ball game with a cold one and save us a seat.
