Ken was a true friend. I began working with Ken when he was in charge of the Subscription Department [Plain Truth, Good News, Tomorrow's World et al] and I was a systems analyst working on ACTS [Ambassador College Terminal System].
Later in 1974 when I left AC to go to Bechtel Power and -- later -- Occidental College, I met up with him again at the Foundation of Biblical Research, where he was working with Ernest Martin. Our relationship began again.
I was on the Board of the FBR and made some trips to Board meetings from the Toronto area where I lived after 1976. At a point, Ernest left the FBR and Ken Fischer ran it after that time for several years.
We always saw eye to eye on things surrounding the FBR. I was very sorry to hear of his passing some time ago!!!
I originally heard about Ken's passing from his son, Michael at an Imperial reunion which was held at the same Hilton Hotel in Pasadena.
I had met Ken in Milwaukee in 1957 or 58. I traveled with Dean Blackwell on his Sabbath circuit of St Louis, Chicago and Milwaukee. Later had his son in my English class. In 1974 we left WWCG and started attending FBR with lectures from Ernest Martin. When we moved off campus to Bakersfield, Ken volunteered to help us by driving our meager belongings to our new location. He was always out to help.
