Lucretia Leonard (Kellers)

Death of Lucretia Kellers

From Fred Kellers, elder, Nashville, TN:

My wonderful wife, Lucretia Kellers, has finished her race. Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints. She died peacefully at home. She was a quiet, gentle soul and was a bit shy. At one time, she said that we were to not have a funeral or memorial service for her. She didn’t want to be the center of attention or cause expense, even in death. However, when she saw that a simple memorial service could be held after services, she relented and agreed to have that. She would have thought it a waste for people to come a long distance or to purchase flowers. I plan on waiting a few weeks before the memorial service, which I will announce to the local congregations. I’m one of those persons who prefers to grieve in private and I’ll be better prepared for the service if it’s not held right away. Thank you for all your prayers and all the cards you sent. Lucretia greatly enjoyed them. There is no need for you to send me a card. Your prayers and love are sufficient.

So sorry for your loss Fred. This is huge and the journey is unique and surreal. My heart goes out to you and your family.

Dear Fred, I just noticed you're no longer married to Lucretia. I always believed yours was a match made in heaven. So very sorry you lost that lovely lass.

I see that God has now graciously given you a new bride. May He continue to comfort and bless you both with every good thing -- which I'm certain will always be true.

God speed you both. jds
